This app intention is to break all barriers of communication between deaf and hearing people.
With this app, the deaf person will comprise the words that he don´t understood across lip reading and through the text that shows in the device in a very simple way.
You just need to follow these steps:
1. Get into Play Store in any Android device and download OiVis app.
2. Hang your device around your neck, above your chin, so that you have your hands free, that is needed for a better performance of the app.
3. To activate, touch the screen and start talking, stop talking and what you said will appear on the screen.
4. The deaf person will be able to read the text and see your gestures simultaniously, that way you con have a complete conversation.
5. Touch the screen again so that it records your voice and stop talking for it to write what you said.
6. When you stop talking with the other person, you can use your cellphone or tablet normaly.
Hanging the device is essential for OiVis work, it will not work properly if you just hold the device in your hand, unless you hold it next to your face. Now talk slow and with small sentences, give him/her time to answer and talk again.
This way of using your android device (using it like a necklace) is essential for OiVis to work properly, the conversation doesn't work as it could be if you hold the android device in your hand, unless when you do hold the device beside your face. Now talk clearly, with short sentences, and give some time for the other person to answer and the conversation will start.
Note: For a better performance of this app, it's necessary a good wifi/mobile signal in your android device and to have a working microphone built in. (for mobile data, mobile data rates may apply)
